Description

Enjoy a bounty of juicy nectarines with this compact tree that offers springtime fragrant flowers, followed by yellow fleshed fruits in summer. Concerned about garden space? Do not fret, as this variety has been grown as a genetically dwarf tree, so even after many years the height will not exceed 3ft - ideal for your patio in a large pot.

The Nectarine 'Garden Beauty' tree smothers itself in early spring with deep-pink, semi-double flowers, which release the most remarkable aroma - just be sure to protect these blooms from the frost with a fleece cover.

Thankfully, you do not need to worry about planting a second variety nearby for pollination, as 'Garden Beauty' is self-fertile. The headline fruit will appear late in summer, when you are able to pick sweet juicy, full flavoured nectarines straight from the tree.

Supplied as a dormant bare root tree, double grafted, around 80cm tall.

Top Tips
  • For bigger crops, use an artist's soft paintbrush moving from flower to flower to increase pollination.
  • Try and keep the canopy dry each spring as the leaves emerge, to avoid Leaf Curl.
Care Information
  • Patio nectarines can be grown in large containers filled with soil-based John Innes No 3 compost.
  • In February each year, feed with a balanced fertiliser, and repot every couple of years.
  • Naturally dwarf, these patio nectarines need little or no pruning to keep their compact shape.
  • Protect the blossom from frost and, although self-fertile, using a dry small artists paintbrush to brush pollen from flower to flower will increase fruit set.
  • When fruit appears, it will need thinning. Remove poorly placed, small, or misshapen fruits when they are about the width of your little finger nail. Aim to have a fruit every 15cm.
  • Water container-grown trees almost every day during the growing season and give them a high potash liquid feed every couple of weeks. Avoid excessive or irregular watering when fruit is ripening to prevent the skin splitting.
  • As the fruit develops it may need protection from pests such as birds and squirrels.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
