Product Information

Morus 'Mojo Berry' is a dwarf variety of Mulberry, covered in a profusion of pretty white late spring blooms, followed by a succession of succulent berries from July to November, colouring from ruby red to glossy black.

This is a unique selection of mulberry, developed over many years, and we're delighted to be able to offer this unusual fruit tree to the home gardener, bringing the delights of the sweet, juicy mulberry to all!

Winner of the coveted 'Plant of the Year' award at the 2017 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, this compact and robust fruit tree grows to a height of just 125cm and is perfect for patio pots, or to bring something a little different to a mixed border.

Easy to grow and the ideal fruit tree for beginner gardeners, 'Mojo Berry' is self-pollinating and fruits are produced on both new and old wood, even within the first year, so you're guaranteed lots of sweet, juicy berries - great for jam making, baking, and other dishes.

Supplied as an established plant in a 2L pot, ready to be planted out.

Top Tips

  • Delicious fresh, on their own, in a smoothie, or on top of your breakfast cereal.
  • You can make wine, a liqueur with gin or vodka, or add them into a cocktail - basically adapt any blackberry recipe!

Care Information

  • Prepare the ground well before planting, removing all weeds and incorporating well-rotted compost or manure.
  • Reliably self-fertile, so you only need one tree, plant 'Mojo Berry' in a fertile, well-drained soil in a place in the sun.
  • Water your potted plant well.
  • Dig a hole a little deeper and three times wider than the nursery pot.
  • Add a soil conditioner such as well-rotted manure to the earth removed from the hole if necessary.
  • Remove the plant from its pot and tease out a few of the roots.
  • Place your plant in the hole at the same level as the pot. Refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling).
  • Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the rootball.
  • Water well and mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel or bark.
  • Can be pruned lightly in late winter to remove any dead, diseased or damaged branches.
