Description

Introducing the 'Pineberry'! A recent variety of strawberry that's taking leading supermarkets and restaurants by storm, with an exceptional flavour and a unique look.

Enjoy an eruption of flavour as soon as you place it in your mouth - first you taste strawberry, then tropical flavours hit your palette whilst all the time a cloud of mouth-watering aroma builds! It really will create a taste sensation.

These juicy fruits have a more intense flavour than red strawberries, with a subtle aftertaste of pineapple - hence the name. The unusual colouring is quite striking too, with creamy white flesh and red seed pips, so it looks like a normal red strawberry has been reversed!

Flowering in May, followed by the ready-to-pink fruit from June. Plus, the 'Pineberries' will rarely be eaten by birds as they don't actually look ripe, even though they are! Increase crop sizes by growing this near another variety of strawberry.

Supplied as a set of 10 strawberry runners.

Top Tips
If you are planting in pots, use a well-draining potting mix and make sure the pots have drainage holes.
Care Information
  • Where possible, plant strawberry runners in late summer or early autumn to give time for the roots to establish before the winter chills. You can also plant them in early spring, but they may not produce fruit in their first year.
  • Strawberries need at least 6 hours of sunlight per day so plant in a sunny spot of the garden.
  • These prefer well-drained, fertile soil with a pH between 6.0 and 6.5. Enrich the soil with compost or other organic matter to improve drainage.
  • Dig holes that are large enough to accommodate the roots of the runners, spacing each 30-45cm apart.
  • The crown of the plant, which is the point where the roots meet the stem, should be level with the soil surface. Planting too deep can cause the crown to rot, while planting too shallow can cause the plant to dry out.
  • Gently spread the roots out in the hole before filling it with soil, then firm the soil around the base of the plant to remove air pockets.
  • Water the newly planted runners well to settle the soil and encourage root growth.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
