Description

If you love the idea of growing your own delicious fruit, the Loganberry is a must-have addition to your garden. This unique species is a natural cross between a blackberry and a raspberry, combining the best of both fruits in one.

From July to August, Loganberries produce large, juicy, red berries that are as versatile as they are delicious. Their rich, tangy flavour makes them a treat to eat raw, straight from the plant.

They’re also fantastic for making homemade jams, pies, and desserts, bringing a burst of natural sweetness to your kitchen. Loganberries are packed with vitamins and antioxidants, making them as healthy as they are tasty.

Its canes make harvesting easy and enjoyable, and it can be grown in the ground or in a large container for smaller spaces. Reaching a height of around 2m, the Loganberry can also be trained against a fence or trellis for a space-saving and decorative feature.

Whether you’re a seasoned grower or new to fruit gardening, the Loganberry is an easy-care plant that delivers impressive results. Its extended fruiting period and unique flavour make it a standout choice for anyone looking to enjoy homegrown produce that’s as delightful to grow as it is to eat.

Supplied as an established plant in a 2 litre pot, ready to plant.

Top Tips
  • Cover plants with netting when in fruit, otherwise you'll just end up feeding the birds!
  • Pick over the plants several times as not all the fruit ripens at the same time.
  • Fruits can be left on the bush for a few more days after they ripen for a more intense and complex flavour, when they'll also easily pull away from the cluster.
Care Information
  • Plant in well-drained, acidic soil in a sunny, sheltered spot.
  • If your garden soil has a pH over 5.5, this is best grown in a pot, with ericaceous soil. Keep it well-watered - don’t allow the soil to dry out.
  • Water with rainwater if you can as tap water will gradually raise pH levels.
  • Feed every month with a liquid fertiliser for ericaceous (lime-hating) plants.
  • If growing directly in the garden, add plenty of organic matter such as pine needles or composted conifer clippings. Avoid farmyard manure as it will scorch the roots.
  • Pruning is rarely needed in the first two years. After that prune in late Feb – early Mar, aiming to remove a proportion of old wood every year. Two year-old wood is the most productive.
  • Take out any damaged, dead, and diseased wood and prune out low branches that will lie on the ground when full of fruit.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
