Description

Discover the Boysenberry, a one-of-a-kind fruiting plant that brings a unique blend of flavours to your garden. This remarkable hybrid is a cross between a raspberry, blackberry, dewberry, and loganberry, combining the best traits of all four into a single, mouthwatering fruit!

Boysenberries produce dark purple fruits in mid-to-late summer, bursting with a deliciously sweet, blackberry-like flavour. These versatile berries can be enjoyed fresh from the vine, or used to create jams, desserts, and baked goods that are sure to impress. Packed with vitamins and antioxidants, they're a healthy treat for the whole family too!

One of the standout features of this plant is its long, thornless canes, which creep along the ground, making it easy to train and maintain. These canes are both productive and manageable, perfect for sunny spots in the garden or large containers on patios. With minimal effort, you can enjoy a bountiful harvest year after year.

Hardy, resilient, and self-fertile, you can count on consistent crops with very little care. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting out, the Boysenberry offers a rewarding and delicious addition to your garden.

Supplied as an established plant in a 2 litre pot, ready to plant.

Top Tips
  • Cover plants with netting when in fruit, otherwise you'll just end up feeding the birds!
  • Pick over the plants several times as not all the fruit ripens at the same time.
  • Fruits can be left on the bush for a few more days after they ripen for a more intense and complex flavour, when they'll also easily pull away from the cluster.
Care Information
  • Plant in well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered spot.
  • Water with rainwater if you can as tap water will gradually raise pH levels.
  • Feed every month with a liquid fertiliser for ericaceous (lime-hating) plants.
  • If growing directly in the garden, add plenty of organic matter such as pine needles or composted conifer clippings. Avoid farmyard manure as it will scorch the roots.
  • Pruning is rarely needed in the first two years. After that prune in late Feb – early Mar, aiming to remove a proportion of old wood every year. Two year-old wood is the most productive.
  • Take out any damaged, dead, and diseased wood and prune out low branches that will lie on the ground when full of fruit.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
