Description

A modest slender weeping cherry that brings a cascade of pure white blossom to the garden. This compact weeping tree, just perfect for restricted spaces, boasts luscious green leaves, delicate white flower and all-round great autumn colour.

Even when mature, this delightful tree has a compact form, making it suitable for planting in a large pot on a sunny patio. Equally, planting two 'Snow Showers' trees either side of a pathway makes a beautiful entrance to the garden.

In spring, when the flowers appear, ‘Snow Showers’ is a sight to behold, with pendulous branches awash with the most beautiful display of pure white blooms. The weeping branches cascade downwards and are covered in the single, pure-white flowers. The flowers are popular with the first of the spring bees and the flowers have a light and fresh scent.

The spring leaves appear with the last of the flowers and the mid-green leaves are ovate and serrated. The leaves really come to life in autumn when they produce a final burst of colour: they turn to scorching shades of deep reds and oranges.

Supplied as an established plant in a 5L pot, ready to plant.

Choose a sheltered location (to protect the blossom when it emerges in the spring).
Care Information
  • Mix well rotted compost or manure with the soil taken from the hole and then use to backfill around the tree.
  • Keep well-watered until established.
  • Keep the area free of competing weeds and protect the tree with a rabbit guard if necessary to protect your young cherry tree.
  • Pruning your tree for the first few years will create a more balanced branch framework - prune after flowering and before the new shoot growth appears to create an open goblet shape - removing any twisted, damaged or dead branches.

    Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.
