Fast-growing, easy to maintain, and evergreen for year-round beauty. Very few hedges quite match the rich and dense foliage Cherry Laurel bring to the garden. Also known as English Laurel, this glossy green hedging plant acts as a backdrop for gardens up and down the country, featuring springtime shows of dainty white flowers.
When most other plants and gardens are starting to slow down for autumn, the flowers fade to make way for festive displays of cherry-red berries, providing food for birds at a time when it is most needed.
This variety has even been recommended by the RHS as a ‘Plant for Pollinators’, due to an excellent ability to draw the attention of beneficial insects.
These hardy hedges perform well in most soil types and areas of the garden, including full sun or partial shade. Best used to produce hedges between 1m and 3m tall, quickly forming a dense canopy of shiny green leaves, Laurels grows at a rate of 30-40cm per year, but will not take over the garden.
Easy to grow and maintain, just trim to shape and height twice a year. Suitable for planting all year round, as these are pot grown, for the quickest and most successful establishment. Plant three hedging plants per linear metre of hedge for best results.
Supplied as a set of 50 established plant in 9cm pots, ready to plant.
