Description
Fabulous standard patio trees, and a variety we're sure very few of your neighbours will be growing - expertly shaped and attractive 'Blue Maid' Holly Trees.
These evergreens look exceptional regardless of the season, featuring a scattering of tiny white flowers in spring. Leaves boast the look and texture we have come to expect of hollies, but are thankfully less spiky, with a distinct contrast between light green undersides and deep blue-green tops.
'Blue Maid' is a female variety of the blue holly, so when grown near a male alternative can produce bright red autumnal berries. Perfect topiary specimens with branches that hold onto leaves far better than others, resulting in dense heads of foliage. Grow in pots or borders for much-needed height or plant multiple together for an unusual hedge.
Plus, these tough and hardy trees aren't easily damaged, with top tolerance to British winter conditions. 'Blue Maid' can withstand temperatures down to -27C without any weather damage, with just an annual trim needed to keep them in shape.

Hollies need almost no maintenance if you keep them well-watered for the first couple of years to enable them to establish.
Care Information
- They are more or less trouble-free, with moderately fast growth.
- The more light that your holly receives, the more leaves it will produce, so plant it where it will get maximum light.
- For berry productions, be sure to plant alongside, or nearby, a male species holly tree.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.
