A colourful take on the classic garden Buddleia. Do not settle for just one colour of flower on your Butterfly Bush, instead see a mix of three with 'Tricolour'! Buddleia are known for sheer flower power and a magnetic allure for butterflies.

See three separate colours on each plant as our clever growers have skilfully matched three varieties, in white, pink and purple. These three have been grown together in each pot, so as the plants develop, the stems intermingle and create an intriguing mixed effect to get the neighbours talking!

Retaining their magical attraction to butterflies, you can look forward to peacock and tortoiseshell butterflies aplenty this summer, and for years beyond. Buddleia are robust and easy-care shrubs, requiring almost no maintenance. Just a simple hack back to about 30cm is needed each spring before new leaves appear, but will be just as fine if forgotten. Very hardy and disease-free, grow in sunny spots or large pots.

Top Tips

Buddleia plants are low maintenance, but they do benefit from pruning in early spring to maintain a nice compact plant.

Care Information

Plant Buddleia in garden borders in any moist, well drained garden soil, in full sun or semi-shade.
Alternatively grow buddleja plants in patio containers using soil-based compost such as John Innes No.3.
Prune Buddleia in March, once the hardest frosts are over, as the new growth begins to show.
Firstly, remove any dead, diseased, damaged, or weak stems, before pruning all off the remaining stems back to form a low framework.
Drought tolerant once established.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.
