Description

Get your garden spring ready with this vibrant collection of stunning woodland flowering anemone corms.

Anemone coronaria De Caen explodes with early season colour, creating a carpet of reds, pinks, blues and whites that will return to your garden in spring for years to come. They love sunshine, and their poppy-like, velvety flowers also make fantastic indoor cut flower displays.

Very easy to grow, once planted you can leave them in the ground and they will naturalise, so if you want to create the perfect spring paradise, then this collection is the easy way to an eye-catching floral display.

Anemone De Caen makes a voluptuous display in a group but are equally impressive when grown singly, where you can truly appreciate the sumptuous flowers. Their delicate, cupped blooms each have a darker central eye and appear from March to April above a mound of deeply divided, fresh green fern-like leaves.

Ideal for a sheltered, sunny site, this is a charming collection of colours to make your spring garden truly spectacular.

Supplied as a collection of 75 bulbs, ready for immediate planting into pots or in the garden.

Top Tips
  • Plant generously in bold swathes for the ultimate spring display of flowers. Contrasts beautifully with snowdrops.
  • Pre-soak tubers in water overnight before planting to help them get started, and they will start to grow much more quickly.
Care Information
  • Plant the pre-soaked tubers 5-8cm (2-3in) deep and 15cm apart in light, sandy soil in a sunny, protected site
  • Corms can be started off in pots and transferred into the garden when all risk of frost is passed
  • Site your anemones where they will receive full to half day sun
  • After planting, water anemones well to settle the soil around the corms
  • When blooming has finished for the season don't cut off the foliage - the leaves are needed to store energy for the winter
  • Water as needed during active growth periods and feed with a general-purpose fertiliser every 2 weeks while in active growth
  • At the end of the summer the leaves will yellow and die back and the plant goes into dormancy - leaves can be removed at this point. Your anemones will rest for a few months before starting into growth again
  • Leave them in the ground once they die back – they’ll come back bigger and better each year, just cover with a mulch of well-rotted manure or compost to protect against extreme winter weather
  • Plant in herbaceous borders, in pots, or leave in the ground to naturalise
  • If planted in pots be sure to water frequently and keep moist
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
