Description

Bring a spring buzz to your garden with exceptional Alliums. These 100 bulbs will equip you with all the varieties you need to create impressive flowering displays.

Spectacular floral shows await your patio, decking, or garden with these high-reaching blooms in a range of colours. Hardy and tough, they are easy to grow and even make exceptional cut flowers for indoor vase displays.

Looking to boost the activity of your garden and leave it teeming with wildlife? These Alliums have you covered, with each variety recommended by the RHS as a ‘Plant for Pollinators’, drawing the attention of bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects.

Each pack contains:

  • 25 x Allium ‘Graceful Beauty’ size 4/5: A compact variety with clusters of white blooms, lavender purple to the stamens, and occasionally flushed in pale pink. Grows up to 30cm, flowering June.
  • 3 x Allium ‘Purple Sensation’ size 9/10: Enormous spherical flowers in bright purple stand tall on thin stems above a plant of deep green leaves. Closely related to onions, but shouldn't be eaten, Alliums are very tough, hardy, and are even great for beginner gardeners to grow. Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Grows up to 90cm, flowering May – June.
  • 2 x Allium ‘Mount Everest’ size 10/12: Impressive globes of flowers emerge with around 50 star-like white blooms – or more! Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Grows up to 120cm tall, flowering June – July.
  • 40 x Allium ‘Moly’ size 3/4: Yellow sparkler-like flowers provide a wild and natural look at the front of borders. Grows up to 25cm, flowering May – June.
  • 30 x Allium ‘Drumsticks’ size 4/5: Delicate and dainty, purple-tinged flowers rise high on long, tall and straight stems. Also known as the ‘Round-headed Leek’, due to the circular shape of the blooms. Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Grows up to 90cm, flowering May – June.

Supplied as a mixed bag of 100 bulbs, ready to plant.

Top Tips
Underplant with hostas, ferns or other low-growing, hardy perennial plants which will help to disguise the leaves as they fade.
Care Information

Planting advice for your Allium collection:

  • Find a location where the soil drains well and where they will receive full sun.
  • Plant Allium bulbs in early to mid-autumn in a sheltered site to prevent the top-heavy flower spikes from getting blown over.
  • Dig over the soil and remove any weeds before planting.
  • Water well after planting, saturating the soil around the bulbs. Once established, Alliums are drought tolerant.
  • In borders, plant bulbs in early autumn at a depth of about four times the diameter of the bulbs.
  • In containers, Alliums will do well in deep pots with a good general-purpose potting compost with a handful of horticultural grit added.

Aftercare advice for Alliums:

  • After planting, feed with a general-purpose feed such as our Blooming Fast Superior Soluble Fertiliser.
  • Dried flower heads can be removed and made into indoor decorations or left on the plants to self-seed.
  • Divide Alliums every three to four years or when the plants begin to look overcrowded and blooming decreases.
  • Lift the bulbs with a garden fork or spade and pull the bulbs apart.
  • Replant some in the original location and plant the remainder in a new location.

Pruning and trimming advice for Alliums:

  • The leaves die down at flowering time, so it’s best to plant Alliums where this foliage is masked by that of other plants.
  • Avoid removing them while still green, as they provide the bulbs with energy for the following season.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 7-10 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
