Description

Dusk to dawn colour from early spring days, get a distinct and memorable clash of shades with these dark and bright blooming tulips. Scatter these tulip bulbs across your garden’s planting schemes for a uniform look or plant all three varieties alongside one-another for an eye-catching blend of shades.

Tulips are such popular spring-flowering bulbs, thanks to their easy growing nature and ability to look remarkable without requiring too much effort. Plus, the flowerheads emerge on the end of long, upright stretching stems, so are just waiting to be cut and included in fresh vase displays on the coffee table, shelf, or mantlepiece.

These perennial tulips are thankfully easy to grow and will naturalise when left in the ground, returning with fresh displays year after year.

Enjoy this excellent collection that includes:

  • 20 x Tulip ‘Queen of the Night’ bulbs, size 10/11: Welcome the dark of night to bright spring displays with the deep purple, almost black blooms of ‘Queen of the Night’. Petals are glossy in appearance, forming flowers that each stretch up to 60cm high.
  • 20 x Tulip ‘Flaming Flag’ bulbs, size 10/11: Pure white flowers with characteristic deep purple stripes, just like the early streaks of the night sky trying to break through the sun’s rays.
  • 20 x Tulip ‘Triumph White’ bulbs, size 10/11: Pure white and oh so elegant. ‘Triumph White’ are as pristine a variety as they come with big bowl-shaped flowers that are each decorated in bright white petals, emerging above greyish green leaves.

Supplied as a mixed collection of 60 bulbs, ready for autumn planting.

Top Tips
  • Add mycorrhizal fungi to the roots before planting to encourage faster and more reliable establishment.
Care Information

Planting Advice for your Tulip Bulbs

  • Plant bulbs at twice the depth of the height of the bulb and four times their width apart. e.g. 5cm tall bulbs need to be planted 10cm below the surface of the ground and 20cm apart.
  • Please check the bag for any additional planting instructions.
  • They are fine to plant even if a little green growth is showing, they’ll just need a good watering when you plant them, and then only when the soil is dry.
  • Leave them in the ground once they die back for flowers again next year.
  • While all the energy that a bulb needs in order to grow is stored in the bulb itself, they will do better if you feed them when in active green growth.
  • Plant in herbaceous borders, in pots, or leave in the ground to naturalise.
  • If planted in pots be sure to water frequently and keep moist.

Aftercare Advice:

  • Tulips can be planted as late as November, but it’s best to get your bulbs in the ground so that they can establish a good root system before the weather becomes too cold.
  • Plant in herbaceous borders, in pots, or leave in the ground to naturalise.
  • Water frequently and if in pots ensure that the compost doesn't dry out.

Tidying your Tulips:

  • Once flowering is over, it is important to leave the leaves on your tulips until they have died right down, usually by early summer. This allows the bulb to store food and produce flowers the following year.
  • While it is recommended that bulbs are dug up and dried in the summer sun, modern thought is that there is no real benefit from doing this and many gardeners now leave bulbs where they are.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
