Cucumber La Diva Seeds

• Once the fruits form, give a liquid feed every 3-4 weeks to ensure the best crops.
• Keep moist to avoid irregular shaped fruits and mildew.
• When harvesting, cut the stem of the fruit with a sharp knife. Avoid pulling them off the plant as this will cause damage and reduce further cropping.
• Pick often, as soon as the mini cucs are ready, to ensure a long cropping season.

How to grow Cucumber ‘La Diva’

• Sow indoors, February to April, edge downwards, 1.5cm (½in) deep in individual pots of seed compost. Water well and place in a light, warm position, away from draughts and strong sunlight. A temperature of 20°C (68°F) is ideal. Keep moist but do not overwater.
• Seedlings should start to appear in 7-21 days. Pot on to 12.5cm (5in) pots when there are 3-4 leaves showing.
• Transplant as soon as seedlings are large enough to handle, to avoid damaging their long tap roots.
• Harden off and plant out to final position in May, spacing 45cm (18in) apart in a pot, growing bag or border of an unheated greenhouse, or in a sunny position in a bed or large container outdoors. Dig in some well-rotted compost into the soil before planting if growing in the ground.
• Or sow outdoors, April to May, 5cm (2in) deep, directly where they are to grow, in a sunny, sheltered position in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Sow seeds 45cm (18in) apart. Keep moist and weed-free. Seedlings should start to appear in 7-21 days. Early sowings will benefit from cloche protection.

Harvest from June to October, when the cucumbers are approx. 15cm (6in) long. Pick regularly to encourage further cropping.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.
