Such a striking houseplant, and one we’re sure will be unique in your collection! Get growing indoors with the Polka Dot Begonia houseplant.
The easy to care for nature of this variety does not quite match the look of the plant, it almost doesn’t seem fair to have such an attractive plant that requires such little effort!
Also known as Begonia maculata, or sometimes the Clown Begonia, this boasts big dark olive-green leaves coated in silvery freckle spots, and pointed in shape. Take a look at the reverse of each leaf to see a dazzling reddish shade.
What’s more, you’ll be able to see spring to autumn flowers on this houseplant, with sprays of dainty pink blooms.
For the very best flowering displays, keep this variety in indirect light, with regular waterings to keep the soil damp, but not waterlogged.

Care Information
- Place this houseplant in a bright spot, but away from direct sunlight.
- Take care when watering this houseplant. To know when it needs a drink, feel the top couple of inches of soil, if dry, then soak through and leave until it dries before watering once again. Never leave this houseplant sitting in standing water.
- Water directly to the base of the plant, as droplets can leave spots on the leaves.
- Placing the plant on a tray of pebbles filled with water can help to improve humidity.
- Feed in spring and summer using a houseplant-specific feed. Follow packet guidance and avoid exceeding the recommended dosages.
